7 "But blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD,
whose confidence is in him.
8 He will be like a tree planted by the water
that sends out its roots by the stream.
It does not fear when heat comes;
its leaves are always green.
It has no worries in a year of drought
and never fails to bear fruit."
I found this passage looking for a verse for a worship set...
Its relatively simple, self-explanatory, yet it speaks so much truth. Yet to obey it... Full confidence in the Lord, without fear, without worry. The ideal, in which we should live.
The verse that follows this passage is probably more well known... "the heart is deceitful above all things..." How interesting that it follows this passage. The entire passage from v 5 - 18 is filled with imagery and contrast.
Its so easy to see the good in the the truth of this passage, yet why is it such a struggle to obey? How strong is our belief in God's promises?
Mark 9:24 - Lord help us with our unbelief.
